Christmas 2006

Christmas 2006

We went to Disney to celebrate Christmas. Sophia had a blast. At Playhouse Disney at MGM Studios she was dancing and singing, oh and she totally ignored us because it was all about her (but isn't it anyway). She went up to the dance floor and had so much fun. She even tried to go up the stairs to go on stage.

I was worried that she wouldn't like the characters. Well, I was wrong. She tried to cut everyone in line to get to them. It was so cute to watch her. The only one she was a little afraid of was JoJo. I think it was because she was so tired and cranky.

The weather wasn't cooperating the last couple of days so we decided to do the last park in January or February since it would be empty and cooler.

Enjoy the pics.

Hi Everyone,

I found these pictures of Rusty when we first adopted him and then of him now, and I just had to share these. He was 10 pounds and now he's 70 pounds.

Here is Sophia being silly at a Christmas Party. She had a ball.

Sophia helped her mommy make Christmas cookies on Saturday, December 16th.

Amelia's Birthday Party

Today we went to Amelia's birthday party in Palm City. It was a blast. Sophia had such a great time in the bounce house that she didn't want to leave. Of course she was pooped and fell asleep as we were driving home.

It is such a joy being a parent and meeting other parents to intermingle with. All we use to do, before Sophia, was sit home every weekend watching TV and being bored.

Tonight we went to Tradition for the annual tree lighting. I have to say, it was amazing. There were fireworks afterward and Sophia was screaming and crying, she was so frightened. I got an amazing picture of Sophia. What a beauty. We're going to have a lot of trouble when, or should I say if we ever let her date.

Today I tried, and the key word is tried, to get Christmas pictures of Sophia. We chose not to go to the studio to take her pictures because for her 2nd Birthday we went twice and both times she was screaming and crying. I was going to get the dogs to pose too, but all they kept doing was circling around the table.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we went to Nonna and Papa's house for a wonderful turkey feast. It was a small group, but we still had fun.

The weather was absolutely beautiful. Not a cloud in the sky and the temp was just perfect. Me, Sophia and Dada went outside to play a little and Sophia wanted to try to catch the squirrel. She thinks it's a puppy (and we all know how she loves the puppies). She is talking more and more and in sentences now.

Oh, I forgot to mention one very major thing. SOPHIA MADE PEEPE IN THE POTTY! She said Dada, "Potty" and Dada at first didn't want to take her, but he was sure glad he did. We've been trying the potty thing for a while now. Every time she says potty and takes her diaper off, one of us goes in the bathroom with her and we try, but nothing comes out. Soon, very soon we're hoping for a diaper free little girl.

Here are some pics of Sophia and Nikki. Nikki just adores her and puts up with everything Sophia does to her.

Halloween 2006

Hi Everyone,

Today we all went Trick or Treating. It was rainy, hot and humid (just like last year). Other than the horrible weather, Sophia had a great time. We went to Ray's friends complex and Sophia went door to door with two other children. At first, like usual, she was very shy and then she came out of her shell. She would go to the door without us and push the other kids so she can get candy. A couple of houses had doggies and she was in her glory. All the people just loved her and kept commenting at how beautiful she is. I don't mean to brag, but she is the most beautiful girl. She looked so cute in her little red ridding hood costume. I hope everyone else had a great Halloween too. One more thing, Sophia started the night off in a bad mood but as you can tell in the pics, she ended up being in the best mood ever. I guess it was all that candy.

On Saturday, October 14, 2006 Sophia and her mommy traveled to New York, by plane, to surprise Nonna for her 60th Birthday. We landed in JFK and Aunt Tina, Nicholas and Danny were there waiting for our arrival. It was so nice to see them again, and I can't believe how tall they both got. We all walked to where the car was and I couldn't believe how beautiful it was outside. The cold crisp air was something I was looking so forward to. I believe Sophia was loving it too because she wouldn't put on her sweater.

The party for Nonna was on Sunday, so we couldn't let her know that we arrived in Staten Island. We wanted to see her face when she saw us for the first time in NY. When Nonna came into the party, she was very surprised and then when she saw us she couldn't stop crying. We all had a great time at the party and Sophia had a chance to experience NY food.

Sophia had a chance to meet almost everyone she didn't meet in Florida. She had a lot of fun with her cousins. She was running, laughing, falling and having a really great time. The day before the party she was going up and down the stairs at Aunt Tina's and she fell on the last step and that is where she got the mark under her eye. She did great walking up and down the stair after that. You have to remember, there are no stairs in Florida, so this was new to her and she had to climb, climb, climb.

It was sad to leave and return to HOT Florida. I always said, if someone were to offer me a really great job with great pay I would move back to NY in a second.

Oh well, enough for now. Enjoy the pics.
